maffyteacake: (loveless bitch please)
So, because the job situation here in my town is...well, there are none, i'm on jobseekers allowance. I had to go into the job centre today for a followup meeting thing. I get to the very depressing building in the very gorgeous part of old Hatfield, stand in the queue for a few minutes, and when my turn comes I hear....

"Yes, sir?"

Now, this lady (a jobcentre employee) cannot possibly be talking to me, could she? I mean, i'm in the girliest clothes I own (I was trying to be fashionable today) and in full makeup. I looked around for a second, thinking that she might've been talking to someone behind me. Nope, no one nearby. I shrugged it off, and said what I was there for. She asked me my name, which is Emma (not Brian/Steven/Zog), and she points over to a station in the corner of the room...

"Just over there, sir."

Which was just /mean/. There was a security guard standing next to her (who said nothing, wtf?) so I felt too intimidated to confront her. But ASDFGHJKL WHY SO NASTY? Just because i'm unemployed doesn't mean I'm less of a human being. 8(
